Wondered why ds4's behaviour went 'downhill' from easter '06. We thought it was just the asd rearing it's ugly head. Ds4 was waking with nightmares every night, constantly ill with colds and broke out in exema. He didn't want to get on the school bus. Found out by chance that a member of staff in ds4's unit had been illtreating him, verbally, mentally and physically. To cut a long story short, we removed him from the unit and he is now much happier at his new school and is progressing rapidly. His health has also improved. The school nurse said last week that she could not believe the difference in him, from a withdrawn, upset little boy, to a happy, interactive child who was always smiling. I can't believe someone could do this to my ds, who is so vulnerable and get away with it!. She is being monitored by the head of the unit, the same person who saw and new this was going on in the first place!
I am still crying when I think how she could have treated him the way she did, he is so loving.

Good God,this is a sackable offence.
Collect your evidence, stay calm (hard I know) and arrange an emergency meeting with the head.

Do your utmost to get this person the sack, they are not fit to work with any child at all.

Head wrote and told us that as we hadn't seen first hand what had happened, it was all 'hearsay' and to that effect we weren't involved in the diciplinary hearing, we found out third hand what the outcome was. I have even spoken to child protective services to no avail. Our feeling is that this person may suffer from some sort of 'problem' She took great delight in phoning to tell me that my son had had an accident and cut his lip, but no record was made of it. I have asked for copies of entries in the sccident book and am still waiting for them, some six weeks on. Ex-members of staff have told me, and I quote, 'she is a horrible person' but we all seem to be hitting a brick wall with the Head and the authorities

I would approach the Education dept. or one of the governers.
Don't let it go.
