Another "is ds1 looking forward to xmas" today. Only the 2nd of the year so it is decreasing year after year. But .

I suspect you are looking for a fellow 'sighee' but couldn't let your post go unanswered

I imagine it is pretty irritating, year after year, hearing the same old, same old. I guess it's just that unimaginative small talk thing (which I find hard to tolerate at the best of times), mindless in it's delivery.

TBH - I suspect that anyone who is asking you a question like that, is so clueless as to your life, that any answer you give them will probably go straight over their heads!

How are all the DCs? Saw from your posts that DS1 was having awful poo troubles - hope the worst is now past - or should that be passed LOL

I think its something people say without thinking tbh. The people who say it often do know that he would have no idea, they just say it without processing. Bit like "nice day for it isn't it?". It's just a reminder iykwim, and it doesn't really hurt, it just flattens in a sighy sort of way these days.

DS1 has pooed (although not today), ds2 is now walking again and ds is still picked in a rash!

I'm looking forward to Janaury (it's my birthday on xmas day so another reason to be flat these days- getting too old!)

Tell me about it - the getting old bit!

I'm shocked at how old the DCs are now (8 and 6), time is really marching on and sometimes I feel it's hard to keep up!

It's just another day, though when all is said and done, and a heck of a lot of fuss too! We've really stripped back on our plans for the day - no-one but Mum coming this year - so can keep it simple and flexible. If we end up eating dinner off our knees at 10pm or midnight - they we can do

Hope your 3 little demons are soon recovered!

And looking on the bright side - as long as you are sighing you are still breathing

The thing I love about ds1 is that if he opens a present he doesn;t like (and I do rejoice that now at least he understands the concept of presents- it was horribly depressing when he didn't) he just drops it on the floor and walks off.

Ds2 is still a bit iffy about opening wrapped presents - has lost interest by the time he's managed to make the first tiny tear. We're doing unwrapped presents in his stocking this year. He does the present dropping too - did it with Father Christmas only last week!
