ABA shadow at school nursery

Hi

DS (3) would appear to have mild ASD (no diagnosis). He is verbal (mild language delay but generally makes himself understood) behaves well, no sensory issues. I think he will do well at school but would like to try an ABA programme to improve concentration, verbal skills and social interaction.
I will be funding this myself for the time being. Does anyone have any experience of putting an ABA shadow into a school nursery/primary that you are paying for (particularly in Hertfordshire). Have the school been happy to let you bring your own person in? Have the school understood what ABA is? How did you go about explaining it to them?

Many thanks

To my knowledge schools won't like it .

It's always worth visiting a few schools to sound them out but it is probably unlikely that any will agree unless it is very clear that your DS will require full time 1-2-1.
We did have our ABA tutors go into school nursery with our DS but it was in his statement that he needed full time 1-2-1 and we explained to the school that our tutors were already used to him (and him to them) and therefore the best choice.
As your DS doesn't legally have to go to school yet you may have more luck with putting him into a private nursery so that you can work on the skills you want to?
