lol. We have one and the neighbours always park in it and it makes me so cross. I usually put a note on the car saying something like:
'apologies if you are a blue badge holder, but if you are not this is a disabled bay for the use of blue badge holders only. This bay was put here at my request for the use of my 5yr old disabled son blah blah...'

or i run out and grab them if i see them going to the car and politely inform them that a disabled child lives in this house and not to park there unless they have a blue badge.

Its hard, as I know everyone will wonder why we have one

They see my 2 DD's walk to the car every morning. But the reason Ellie can walk/run to the car is because it is right outside our house

I would struggle badly with the 2 of them if the car was down the road. Plus if I left Ellie in the car and went back to get all the school bags she would scream and have a tantrum

I would never have dreamed of ever parking my car across a Disabled Bay

oh my god I still haveb't emailed serah (we need one and the council won't provide which means we're stuck in when I have all 3).

A sign is a good idea.

I just hate the thought of all the neighbours thinking "why on earth do they have a bay" when they see us all walking

what really gets me is the neighbours either side who park across and both have 2 healthy children

Where we live they have 'reserved' spaces outside the house of any blue badge holder that doesn't have their own driveway or garage. This means it is reserved for use by the badge holder only. Not sure if they have them in the UK, but they seem to be a good idea.

Get 'em towed! That's what I do. I have a 24 hour number to phone if someone uses the bay outside without a badge. It is not OUR bay, it is one for general use of people with a badge so I don't complain of course if someone gets there before me and they have a badge. But if they don't, away they go! OK, its not usually my neighbours so I don't know who it is or have to face them, but the only thing that will work is if people know there will a serious sanction.
