Well today is the day. I'm quite nervous actually but I hope I get a good outcome after this.

Thanks everyone for answering my endless (repetitive) questions from these past few months leading up to tribunal. I really don't think I would of appealed DS statement if it wasn't for you guys and your incredible knowledge.

Wish my good luck. Grin

To that end, they had to demonstrate their justification for the tribunal at all by nitpicking some part 3 stuff.

And there is always the chance the family pull out.

Ineedmorepatience · 18/06/2015 16:12

Yeah true starlight Hmm

I see Starlight McKenzie.

I'm not sure if the LA rep agreed with the choice of school. It all came down to whether if it was his ASD or language as his main need.

I think that is so true starlight - at mine yesterday the judge ordered them out to reconsider and they came back and said no - im sure that's because if they did concede and given it was me - they were terrified I would go for costs against them again.

mine also the day before my hearing found out they had finally won a tribunal - so that may have made them feel proud of themselves which they should do as its the first one they have won in 10 years!!!

well done Adrianna - sounds really positive and Im guessing the LA had no school to fight you with anyway

Well done and glad it's over for you too.

I don't think there's any way to express just how mentally hard appealing is. The cost on the family, mental health and finances ( even if you only get private reports and one witness) is massive.

It's only when your backed into that corner and you have no choice.

Did you say the other day your 21 and a student? Hats off to you. Your quite frankly bloody amazing. At 21 i couldn't have done what you have

jigster01 · 18/06/2015 17:08

Agree with 2boys ..can't believe you're only 21 ! Well done to you and hope you get the outcome your DC deserves.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/06/2015 17:17

I agree, well done! I'm more than twice your age and have found this whole process overwhelming and that's without getting to tribunal.

Icimoi · 18/06/2015 23:16

I think you would definitely know if the LA rep agreed with your choice of school, so I fear they didn't. But am I right in thinking you had a representative? If you're not sure, maybe ask him or her?

adrianna22 · 18/06/2015 23:21

Hi everyone thanks for your comments. Yes 2boys I am 21, I had DS really young. It was stressful. But regardless of age, I think you are all amazing!!

I'll definitely let you guys know of the results.
