After much deliberation and upset ... dd is starting her new, small middle school tomorrow. Fingers crossed for good times, easy transition, onwards and upwards ...............

School decisions for me this week too. Tomorrow DD ( HFA,y5) is visiting DS3's small mainstream indie and the next day I am visiting a special school (not recommended DD visits at this stage.) DD is a 'young' 10 year old and I can't imagine her in secondary at all....

Thank you for all the good wishes everyone. I know this will be LOADS better for her than her previous school ... not sure if it's completely the best for her but the only other options are home ed or specialist school. So we're going down the smaller school route for now.

Just had her school report from existing school .. massive academic achievement, every subject teacher said dd is very shy, she must speak up etc. They still just don't understand her/autism. 1 teacher wrote a paragraph with dd's name then changed to another girls name in the second paragraph! Her music teacher wrote how well dd's doing, how she can play 'the drunken sailor' very well with all fingers on one hand! Really? Dd never did this and was told to 'get over it' (her anxiety) by same teacher. I'm pleased she's out now.

That is awful about the report frazzled and they wonder why we cant trust them to look after our precious children!!

Dd3's school have told a corking lie to us today! It doesnt matter anymore but it still hurts that it comes so easy to them!!

Dd3's report also said things like, "needs to involve herself more in lessons and needs to seek out support!!" I give up !!

It is shocking Ineed (yours and my case) ... We should never ever be told lies, NEVER. Agree totally with the seek out help/support ... WHEN WILL THEY LEARN OUR DC CAN'T DO THAT! I hope your dd enjoys her HE from September.

Ah thanks polter .... she went in in tears (we expected that). Was a bit worried as they had no spare LSA to look after dd today however, they managed to get a spare teacher to be with her for the first 2 lessons and last lesson of the day. Senco phoned at lunchtime to say dd has had a good morning, said the support teacher commented that dd excels at maths. No surprise there. Picked her up tonight and her first words were "it's much better than my old school" ... so good there! She knew a couple of girls there from her primary school, and one of her very good friends is there. They put dd in her best friends class (deliberately) and her best friend looked after her and was her 'voice'. Dd excitedly told me she made friends! Then told me 2 girls names. So all seems good. Very good. When I picked her up tonight the senco reminded me to let them know if they did something wrong, or if they could do something better, or if dd has any queries/worries.

We've had some pent up outbursts tonight but I expected that also.

Dd went to bed last night with no tears! Yey!!
She went into school this morning with no fuss and no tears!! Nervous, but that's ok!
She's off tomorrow, getting teeth out ready for her braces but she's happy to go in Friday. So far, so good.
I really hope you find your dd a good school bb, fingers crossed for you.
2 boys .. I can't remember if your boys are settled in school or HE Hope they're doing well wherever they are.

I think our journey with school is over because I cant be lied to anymore or see Dd3 stressed but that is another thread maybe for later!

My middle boy is settled ok in ms ( touch wood) he's happy so reluctant to move him. Toddler went to asd school panel last week. I won't hear for two weeks if he got in.

Not holding my breath.
