Apologies - I posted this in Chat, before I realised there was an Education section:

Hi

Is there anyone here who attends/has attended Blossom Lower School and can share their thoughts on it? We are interested in it for my 6 year old son who has ASD and is statemented. He is bright and has little in the way of challenging behaviour (no meltdowns or aggression). I believe his minor unwanted behaviours would be eradicated by a focus on his communication skills and a sensorily more agreeable environment (he's currently in state mainstream). His most significant area of difficulty is social, although that manifests as a lack of interest rather than any problematic behaviours.

I'm also interested in views on the parent school.

Thanks!

Post on the special needs children's board, there's more traffic there.

I looked to see if you had posted this again but I couldn't see it. I'm taking my son for an assessment In a couple of weeks.
I've heard good things about the other Blossom House but don't really know more than that.
They are moving to Euston in September I think.
Interested to see if anyone has any personal experience too.

Hi, I too would be very interested to hear any comments on Blossom Paddington Green, or any other special schools focusing on communication for those very young 4-6 year olds.

I've no knowledge of the school but some knowledge of westminster schools with language provision. I assume Blossom is fee paying rather than maintained, which means you'd need to argue that state maintained schools can't meet his needs in order to get the LA to agree to send him there. Other state primary schools with speech and language provision that you could look at are Churchill Gardens in Pimlico, Miles Coverdale in Shepherds Bush and Ark Brunel in Ladbroke Grove. Ark is a new unit opening in September. All are part of mainstream primary schools. Miles C goes up to age 7, the others go all the way up to year 6.

Hello there - we are considering Blossom House for our son - he is in year 5 (it is the new site in Motspur Park). Any feedback would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Hi Juni welcome to the board.

If you search "Blossom House" in the search archives, you should see past threads and comments regarding the school. I've heard many good things about the school but don't know about the school personally.
