As the title says really, does anyone have an experience, pearls of wisdom, advice etc?

We've been turned down because the assessor doesn't feel my daughter is disabled enough. Her medical team feel that she is, and will be putting in support letters with our appeal.

Has anyone had similar?

I think it depends what her difficulties are. It seems to be pretty much impossible these days to get a BB for Asd unless you get HRM (at least in my LA).

She's got Hypermobility as well as ASD. She can't walk far at all, certainly not without a lot of pain and tiredness. The assessment was crap!

I know, Dd is hypermobile, severe asd and severe learning difficulties. No BB for us even after appeal :(

Hypermobility is not understood properly by the BB department.

Do you ever use a wheelchair/buggy to help dc with walking when she gets tired?

Or is she in pain sometimes before she even starts walking?

I think emphasising the fact that dc can be too tired to walk and in pain as she leaves the car, but you cannot predict when those moments arise might help. Especially if you have a diary and it shows that a marked proportion of the time she is affected. - whether it is everyday activities you have avoid or typical activities you have to struggle with.

I am guessing that she might be able to walk 100 m into a swimming class, but far fewer meters back to the car? That kind of example might help
