Support required in present tense - problem?

We received a newer (better) draft of our plan on Friday. It is mostly the changes I made but water down. One thing they have changed under support required is they have put what he currently receives using present tense e.g. 'At this time.... SALT provides small group work.' I am mostly happy with what they say he receives but it should be in the future tense i.e. 'SALT will provide small group work etc'. I don't like it but want to pick my battles. Is this something I need to get changed?

Apparently this is ok and common. Still a couple of bits I need to tighten up though.

It is OK for Part 2 or whatever the EHCP letter equivalent is.

For provision it makes me nervous. I could put up with it if it was clear from the rest of the document the circs in which it could be reviewed and the amount of small group work increased or decreased.

There are LAs where I would not be concerned because their reputation on SEN is so good, but if yours is penny pinching, then I would tighten it up maybe just add 'and this will continue' on the end.

Sorry to depart from your other received wisdom

Would not be happy with it in the provision part either and would get it changed. It is only a small change and could save you a lot of hassle later on.

It is actually a CSP (Scotland), in the provision bit and made me nervous too. Apparently as soon as it is finalised it is current so provision would be in the present. (Got advice from GovanLaw via Enquire). I will try and get one bit changed and maybe something along the lines of your suggested 'will be continued' but won't argue the rest regarding tense. I have other battles to fight - the classic 'to be provided as appropriate'!
