Can anyone please recommend a very low single bed?

We can't risk our DD falling out of bed for medical reasons so I'm nervous of using even bed rails in case she was to lean over and topple out. But she's over 3 and I would like her to be able to move out of her cot bed.

Can anyone recommend a bed which is very low to the ground? I've googled but I can't find anything which is odd as I can't be the only one who needs one. Thank you

Or just a matress on the floor with some nice rugs and cushions do pretty it up a bit Smile

We use a futon, which is really low to the ground. Kind of a happy accident really as the base was offered on Freecycle at a time when I was desperate for a bed! We use a regular (though thin) mattress as the futon one was ridiculously uncomfortable.

Would this be any use as an interim between cotbed and low bed, it's for up to age 8. www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thur-12-mar/product-detail/ps/p/intex-kidz-travel-bed-set/

Montessori beds are very low to the ground

Thanks everyone, only just seen your replies. I will have a look at all your suggestions now. Re mattress on the floor I've heard it means the mattress wouldn't air properly so I think it needs to be slightly raised.

Ah bbkl thank you I think that's the one I like best so far. And in the sale too :)

do you have an OT? Our's supplied ds with a profiling bed, and he has just been issued a floor bed from Accora, which goes to the floor, but also raises for airing, changing etc

The only trouble with the mattress on the floor is airing, it isn't great to not have air circulating underneath, also not good if there are chest problems or allergies for the mattress to always be directly on the floor. Oh and it is a bugger for your back, if you have to lift them in or out at all.

Pp has already suggested this, but I would second a futon base with a normal mattress.
