Does the weather affect your children's behaviour ?

I know this sounds really woo but the wind seems to really affect my children. DS was spinning and hyper out of control coming out of school yesterday. Poor DD3 screamed and cried the moment we set foot outside and continued till five minutes after we returned Sad

Does not help that people were giving me helpful advice regarding rain covers and foot muffs Angry They meant well but DD3 will NOT tolerate either, she kicks and screams until she has got her legs out the foot muff and continues until the rain cover is ripped or removed.

She is number four and the others used them and she won't...any ideas welcome.

I teach in SEN, and we all say the wind affects their behaviour, absolutely no idea why or whether research has been done to see if it's true or why.

Yes the weather affects my DS, again he won't have rain covers or footmuffs or his coat done up, but will sometimes have a loose blanket over his knees- would this be something that could work - maybe if you let her choose the blanket it may work.

My DS won't wear gloves so I take a spare hat with me and he sometimes gives in and will put his hands in that.

He won't wear a hat but due to sensory issues has his hood up pretty much all day and night- would your DD3 wear a hood?

The wind, Rain affect his sensory system, the frost and snow upset him as it changes everything, for example me defrosting the car upsets him greatly and one year he refused to leave the house when there was snow on the ground.

Winter always seems to be a battleground in our house.

My friend who worked in a nursery for five years said the wind affects all the children. They all get completely worked up even when indoors if it is windy outdoors.

I work in a primary school and most of the children get hyper when it's windy.
Ds really struggles when it's hot. All of his exclusions in ms where in the summer term each year. He really struggles with his behaviour when he gets hot.
