I want to get a private therapist for DS.
But I'm not sure if I should go for an ABA tutor or a more specialised speech therapist.
I really like- if you ever heard of her- Laura Mize interventions strategies. I know she's a speech therapist- but she seems quite different to other speech therapists that I know. She actually goes into DETAIL on how to get a child to talk.
Though- I do confess- I find it very hard to spend three hours one-one time therapy time with DS everyday. I find it very hard and if I must say- boring. I am breathless and tired after our sessions. Am I the only parent that feels like this?
but I keep going because I know this will help DS hugely.
When I started using Laura Mize strategies- they actually worked quite quicker than any other advice I got from other speech therapists.
So I don't know if I should be looking at a specialist therapist, ABA or just do it myself.
