DLA CLAIM TAKING FOREVER-ANYONE ELSE?

Hi,
I'm new here so sorry if I post in the wrong part. I've had a hunt around and couldn't find what section to post this in.
I just wanted to know if anyone else is waiting for a decision from the dla?
This is my first ever claim for ds who is 6yrs.
I sent my claim pack off at the end of August and havn't heard anything ATALL.
I rang them up 2 weeks ago and they said the claim wasn't on the system yet, then I rang them last week and got put through to the Birmingham office who said they received the claim on the 7th September (was supposed to be back by the 3rd September to be backdated and I stupidly didn't send it recorded). He said I should receive a confirmation letter in the next couple of weeks but surely to hear absolutely nothing for 8 weeks is just crazy???
Anyone else waiting? I am going to ring again on Friday to see if it's moved up in the waiting to be seen list.

Adrianna- let us know what they say when they phone back.

I phoned back up today as a week on ive had no letter (after them saying they've sent it as urgent). I was told it has been registered now and has been sent to the decision maker and they will try and send a confirmation letter soon!? I asked how long it will take the decision maker to decide and he said he wasn't sure how long they were taking at the moment . So I'm still here waiting 11/12 weeks after they've received my forms !

Update for anyone reading this in future .
After no letters what so ever I had a text message out of the blue saying my child has received a dla award. I rang up and have been awarded high rate care and low mobility. Genuinely shocked, I was told by cab to expect middle rate!

What! I'm so happy for you Sarah! Still waiting for my claim.Hmm

Adrianna- did they find your claim? The main office could never see my claim form on the system so they always had to put me through to a different office. I phoned up every week on a Wednesday and eventually it was all sorted. It took 12 weeks from when they received my claim form but they said it should have been registered ages ago so they sent it to the decision maker as urgent once it was found in the pile waiting to be dealt with.

YES!!!!

I have been waiting since JULY!

They have now just given my DS a national insurance number! Now I have to wait 3 weeks more for them to process my claim.

I sent my sons renewal off in january got letter dated the 21st saying they received my form and all information I put with it on the 16th and says if they dont have enough info they will contact gp or someone who knows how it affects him or arrange a doctor to examine him or write ti me asking me for more info or arrange someone from my local social security office to come see him and if I havent heard from them within 8 wks get in contact what does this letter mean does it look good or bad or is just standard procedure thanks to anyone who can help

twinkcat · 11/02/2015 08:39

I have just posted my renewal claim. It is disappointing to hear it is taking so long. When I first claimed two years ago for my ds the process was really fast.

CallMeAntigone · 11/02/2015 09:11

ck2015 I got the same letter but is a standard one I think. They never asked our GP for further information.

ck2015 · 11/02/2015 18:06

Callmeantigone thankyou and how long after receiving that letter did you get a reply back from them the award ends on the 1st april and there within 8 weeks from when they receive the form

BlackeyedSusan · 11/02/2015 22:06

I also haven't heard a thing. Posted a month ago and don't even know if they have received them. When I try to call I'm on hold for over 50mins. I keep thinking they haven't received them.
