preparing DD (5) for her assessment - what to tell her?

DD (5, nearly 6) has an assessment in 3 weeks with an educational psychologist - without prejudicing the outcome (if there is an outcome), we've a series of concerns about her behaviour, especially social interactions and concentration. Anyhow, I'm just wondering what I should tell her about it. Can anyone explain what will actually be involved? (we've filled in two preliminary questionnaires, and her teacher has also done one). I don't want to alarm her unnecessarily, but I also don't want to spring it on her at the last moment. Thanks for your help.

How aware she is of being singled out probably will make a difference as to how you speak to her about it. My DS hasn't really asked about why its just him who has to see the occupational therapist and the SEN support. When he has asked a few questions he's very accepting of the answer to find out about you.

anomaly it's not in school time (not UK based, so there is no option but to go private - there is currently no ed psych for my area - but that's another story altogether); it's a Saturday morning

"to find out about you" that's a good formula - I was thinking along the lines of so we can see all the amazing things your brain can do, but yours is better Smile

I always used to tell Dd at that age, she was going to play some games.
