nappies that can hold an 8 year old's wee at night

DS1 still fits into size 6 pampers but they leak most nights. We're not entitled to free nappies (don't get me started on that) but tbh now I just want to have something that doesn't leak even if I have to pay a lot more than pampers. I'm sick of washing bedding, including his pillow and duvet all the time.

Have you tried Drynites? They're fairly reliable for my nearly 6 year old, but they are quite expensive. I also use a pampers bed mat so that if there is a leak, I only have to wash the top sheet and not the waterproof undersheet as well.

We use Libero pull ups from Tena Direct (they should send you some free samples so you can make sure they're suitable). Also Tesco have their own range (Tesco loves baby) of easy fit pull ups in a size 6 which are bigger than pampers size 6.
Failing those would waterproof pants over the nappies help?

We've found once DS is reaching the upper end of the size we get leeks, We've usually ended up going up a size for this reason even though the smaller ones still fit.

We're now using either pampers underjams or huggies drynights. Both in the bigger size. There doesn't seem much to choose between them so I tend to buy whichever is on offer (huggies in Tesco at the moment).

Still not bomb proof though, bedding has been washed twice this week!

does any 1 use molicare

Lalasworld · 27/10/2014 01:05

We've found tens much better than molicare overall.

Can I ask why your not entitled?

Ds is 4 and has just been given nappies as he has gastric issues asd adhd and chronic constipation and isnt potty trained. They are tena adult nappies.

Thankyou, I've bought some huggies drynights and giving them a go, no leaks so far (fingers crossed)

ilove We were just told by a hv and a sw that there was no reason for him to not be toilet trained at night, lazy parenting etc. Despite the fact that 6 year old DS2 is dry at night and DH was a bed wetter well into his teens so it's probably genetic Angry. He's being assessed for AS at the moment. I'm hoping a diagnosis will bring an end to the "well, he shouldn't be doing that" type comments.

DS2 uses drynites/underjams. He uses them all day, since he was just shredding the NHS ones (attends) and having pull ups means that he's able to (slowly) learn to deal with much of his own care.

My hv wad a bitch about it but as ds was already under the local childrens nurses for his health problems he didn't need another referral. I dont understand how at the age of8 could that be lazy parenting Hmm a child without sn at that age knows when they need to go and all about staying clean etc. My4yr old nephew is dry day and night no sn. My4yr old doesnt even know when hes passed stool. This morning I sat there next to him I could hear that he was trying to push and I waited to see if he said anything. I left the room and went back in and nothing.
