Does anyone know the model of buggy that David Cameron's son is being pushed in on the front of the Telegraph today? I want one for dd - it looks very swish (well for an SN buggy)!

is it as nice as this?

dizzy34 · 01/10/2006 21:39

I have the older version of the one you did the link to. I got it from www.rvsrehab.co.uk and they do the ormesa bug as well, we paid £1900 for ours but it has been well worth it, i know the bug costs about the same because two of our friends have it.

I'm going to try and get Wheelchair Services to pay for it - it's about £1500, so about the same as the ones they usually fund.

chonky · 01/10/2006 21:44

The ormesa one looks great. I don't think it's one of those, but it looks similar i.e. posh

good idea charleypops - our wheelchair assessment (long overdue, dd is 2.5!!) is in the pipeline, so need to start researching.

My ds will probably be at least that age when and if we can get it. OT's been sitting on the referral form for over 3 weeks already...

charleypopspreviouslyntt · 01/10/2006 21:49

It's quite "yummy" though isn't it

dizzy34 · 01/10/2006 22:12

Hiya,
we didnt get a choice from wheelchair services, they provided us with a snug seat pushcahir which i hated, we could have had £150.00 towards the pushchair of our choice, but thats not much against £1900 is it? The average for the chair is 1500 but once you add the different harnesses, head support, posture wedges the price increases. The hood is also extra. They are so worth it though.

dizzy34 · 01/10/2006 22:18

This is our push chair, if you scroll down the page we have the jogger base as well

charleypopspreviouslyntt · 02/10/2006 09:25

Oo that's nice Dizzy, that jogger base wouldn't work for me though because I need something with a swivel front wheel that I can take to the shops straight after dog walking without having to swap over.

I've heard of the £150 offer before, but I also know of a couple of people who have refused that and managed to eventually get funding. I'm prepared for a fight, but it's disgusting that people in out position have to. As if we don't have enough stress.

dizzy34 · 03/10/2006 08:18

Yes, its a pain that the wheel doesnt swivel, we keep the three wheel on all the time. Its great when we take ds on the beach or walking in the mountains on holidays. The ormesa bug also folds with the seat attatched but ours doesnt, but ours feels more solid for a bigger child. If you are thinking of one, get all the companies out and have a test run of each.
