DD1 (2 1/2) self-harms. She chews her hands till they bleed and then get infected. It's very difficult to stop her doing this at night, but we've been putting socks on her hands as mittens, taped up so she can't tear them off. It works, but it's a very fine balancing act between making the tape too loose (and she pulls the socks off) or too tight (and it cuts off circulation).

What we really need is one of those sleepsuits that you get for babies with integral mitts in that fold over. She's not bright enough to work out how to get that off and it would be loose round the wrist.

I know it's a very long shot, but has anyone seen such a thing for age 2-3? And beyond, I guess...

Thanks!

You can get sleep suits that fit that age from all sorts of places, then when you get it, sew a sock on to the wrist band of each sleeve. I work with someone who does similar, we also sew socks on to the ankle bands too. You don't have to worry about how tight they are then. I hope I have explained that so you get what I mean!

There's some stuff here that's meant for children with eczema - but the sizes are not in age groups, so not sure if they go up big enough.

These go up to age 2-3.

Also these which look like some of them might go up to age 3-4.
