PIP success!

I applied for PIP for my sixteen year old son who has aspergers and we've heard today that he's been awarded it without a fight!

He had been receiving DLA for quite a few years but as he turned 16 in December we had to apply for PIP instead - it's taken 9 months from application to award including an assessment by capita six weeks ago, but he's been awarded enhanced daily living and standard mobility. I was thinking he would probably get standard rate so it's a nice surprise to get more than expected.

That is very reassuring I have on my right DS 's PIP to do tonight! Everyone says he will be fine (deaf/blind CP) but still don't trust them Sad Massive form!

However congratulations Flowers

Well done - you must have done an excellent job on the form.

Ds turns 16 in November so we are waiting for the forms too. I may be back here asking you for tips Wink.

That is really good to hear. We had a face to face two weeks ago. How long after the meeting did you hear that you had been successful, My son has ASD hyptonia, dypraxia and dyslexia. We have friends who have been turned down. My son is also 16 and has been on high rate care and low mobility since a toddler.

Brilliant news. Ds's claim went in mast month (complex physical disabilities/medical needs/learning difficulties). So now we wait

We had the face to face assessment on august 12th and the letter arrived on Monday this week so around 8 weeks I think.
