Applying for social housing

Do you think I should do a housing medial assessment form for DS as I'm looking to move? Is his learning difficulties and diagnosis a good idea to put on this form?

I do not want any potential housing people to discriminate DS because of his disabilities and not offer us housing.

It only using applies when you need adaptations doing to the home otherwise they aren't bothered. They wouldn't discriminate because of his disabilities, social housing take everyone!
I live in private rented which is normally the pickiest and have had no problems.

Thanks fairgame! So there's no point in me doing a form then?

No the forms are for adaptations and for those applying for social housing on medical grounds. If you apply on medical grounds then you have to prove that your current housing is making DS's condition worse.

Housing Associations won't discriminate and often will have tenancy support officers to help and advise if you have special requirements.

It would be prudent to note if your child needs a separate bedroom from any siblings because of behavioural or sleeping issues, sensory problems etc as this can affect the banding.

Good luck x
