I commented on another thread and saw numerous people saying they have a bb without dla. So is it possible I may get one for me and dd who both recieve LRM as she is 5 and it's very hard carrying her now.

I very much depends what the disability is. If it is a physical thing you might manage to get one but if your Dd has e.g. Asd then it will be pretty difficult if not impossible to get one for her.

The new online application process has made it more difficult if you get LRM. My daughter has had one for over ten years but this year it was rejected, we had it reviewed and provided evidence from the physio and ot and it was eventually given.

We got one a few years ago before DS was eligible for LRM. You need to look at the Govt decision makers criteria for blue badges, ASD is an eg in there. I quoted this para in my application. It did get rejected initially as DS not having a physical disability but I complained (because ASD is a physical disorder of the brain and has been held as such in numerous benefit appeals). I said they had a duty to at least consider his application. Next we heard was a blue badge in the post! I think the council felt we would be awkward! I wasn't sure if he would meet the criteria or not and expected to have to be assessed by OT and would have gone with that decision.
It shouldn't be linked only to DLA because in theory someone could choose not to claim DLA but still want a blue badge.
I think there is some info on NAS website.
