DS1 (yr4) needs now well established, and diagnosed and watch this space for outcome of lea assessment!

DS2 (yr1) always so much easier than DS2. sorry DS1. How bad does that sound? I love them both immensely; they are just very different.

As a baby DS2 definitely more placid and content. more open to try new things, but wow he's 5&1/2 yrs plus now and he's still having tantrums.

Though they're not easy we don't pay too much attention and definitely don't give him what he wants.

My most concerning things are the facts that he doesn't seem to be paying attention. he is engrossed in whatever he is doing or sometimes in a world of his own and, for example, if teacher says everyone line up for dinner. He needs specific instruction or he will stay on whatever he is doing.

unless his name is called he doesn't think it applies to him.

also he has been toe walking and still does. he has insoles and has hypermobility. very tight Achilles tendon and if he has to have surgery for this later in life I will go mad!!!

he also has some speech problems. just really trying to get his words out. he can speak, but seems to have a processing/attention issue.

He sounds like my DS and yes I would be worried. I would try and get a referral to occupational therapy for an assessment. The earlier any intervention occurs the better and if it turns out to be immaturity no harm done.

Also a referral to speech therapy?
