I hate getting two differing opinions from specialists... For 2 yrs we have been told that dd (4) has latnet nystagmus - an unfixable eye wobble which means she would never be able to drive or perceive depth, almost legally blind in actual fact.
We were sent to see the worlds top opthalmologist who specialises in nystagmus to get some advice on helping dd through schooling and such like
She looked at dd, took videos, looked at backs of eyes all that jazz. And declared that dd's eyesight is poor, but that the nystagmus dd has is so very minor that it could not cause the severity of her visual problems
Infact it is a squint
I'm partly enraged as a squint is treated and we have missed out on TWO years of lenses, patches and treatments, now dd may have developed amblyopia as a result.
This is a vent, deep down I'm happier as at least these new problems are treatable and it may mean dd faces less problems in school and in the future... But at a possible misdiagnosis...
