SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Ds being "hurt" by other dc with SN.

At certain times, ds can be very sensitive to touch, so that any rough play in the playground hurts and scares him.
School are aware that he has ASD, and are aware that he masks it incredibly well at school, so he will not react to these incidents until he comes home.

The school has a no rough play policy, but break times are not well supervised.

Another dc with suspected SN is always bouncing up to other dc, jumping on them, even biting them occasionally. The teachers don't appear to know how to deal with him, which is unfair for the child, as he is always in trouble, but nothing ever stops this child from behaving like this.

Ds is now getting scared of going into school.
I've told ds's teacher about this over and over, but nothing is done - hard I know when both have SN.
What can I say to them, and what can I reasonably expect school to do in this situation?
Thanks.

We went through a similar situation last year with ds and another boy. I went to speak to CT and he took action. Some other parents went to speak to the HT. You have to stress that your child has the right to be safe in school and they should put measures in place. Try HT first and if nothing is being done go to the governors. Good luck

Thank you. Will do that.

I forgot to say that when you speak to the CT and HT focus on your child's needs. Don't mention you suspect the other boy might have SN.
I hope it goes alright
