My daughter has been diagnosed with Irlens syndrome and has had her glasses which has helped her reading ability considerably. I could never understand why with perfect vision she never wanted to read. She got through her GCSEs but failed two of her A-Levels and passed the two creative ones. The problems became more prominent during her degree. She was diagnosed with Irlens at 21 and received her overlays. This helped with the time it was taking her to produce her dissertation and helped with the chronic fatigue. When her glasses arrived this helped her to read a book, previously unheard of. We are now looking to source the contact lenses. Does anyone know of anyone who has got the irlen contact lenses or could recommend where we could go to obtain some. The other problem we are having is she is suffering with migraines even with her glasses. The doctor has prescribed propranolol beta blockers which is worrying. He did not show any interest in her condition.

Hi Summertime,

An optometrist, or specialist opticians should be able to provide those types of lenses.
You could haved a look at Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (SSS), the research name for Irlens, I havea PubMed SSS research paper collection listed on my PubMed Invisible Disabilities web page which you may find useful
