Baby TV

A new channel has appeared on our cable- Baby TV for 0-3 year olds. It's a bit odd (think its dubbed Israeli- very monocultural!) but ds1 loves it (ds3 prefers cbeebies ) , and it is excellent for vocabulary building. Lots of "behind- the lion is BEHIND the wheelbarrow". Lots of naming things as well. And "Big bucket, middle sized bucket, small bucket" It's like a SALT session. Bit trippy as well so holds ds1's attention.

Baby TV is fantasic! we had it for a while, but be warned - it vanished suddenly.

dh said a note came up saying it would cost £1.50 a month or something after some date in october. I'm tempted

When we had it, ds1 was riveted to it whenever it was on, I think because it is such simple language and he struggles in that area.

have you got cable or sky?

Jimjams2 · 18/09/2006 09:32

even the website is trippy

cable- telewest. It said something about a free trial or something...... It is good SALT- I was quite impressed. Today as well they were doing the guess the animal thing and I said to ds1 - "what is it" and he said "eee" It was a sheep - I was well impressed!

Apologies to any SALTS- when I say "good SALT" I mean compared to other TV channels not compared to a real live one

oooh, I want it too!
(can only handle so many re-runs of something special)
doesn't seem to be available on sky
we only get the free channels, but can't find it in the full listing either.

We used to get it for free but now you have to pay about £3 a month for it. I liked it but not enough to subscribe.
