Trying to decode LA language and what it means

Further to my post lower down the La finally phoned whilst I had popped to the shop at 5pm tonight - left dh at home and he had decided that would be the perfect time for a shower! They've left a message and it makes no sense so thought I would ask you wise people if you understand - tried to call her back but of course she had by then gone hime!

I've been asking to clarify the deadline as today is 10 weeks from the date the assessment for a statement started and the lA had said they were working to 18 weeks.

Anyway the message said that they were working to the agreed timeline - not sure if that means mine or theirs??? And that the documentation had now been issued??

Take it they are now going on my dates as if they were sticking to theirs they would be issuing nothing. But what does issuing the documentation mean? I'm guessing it's the decision so is there a statement coming, a nil or a plain refusal? Why didn't she just say what the 'documentation' is?

So tomorrow another day to play let's chase the sen officer again.........

The timescale is that agreed amongst those in their office, is pretty arbitrary, is not to be revealed, and any similarity to that laid out in any code is pure coincidence. The documentation was the piece of paper saying you had phoned again and was issued to everyone in the office together with advice about how to respond ('sorry, she is in a meeting').

Good luck with the chase tomorrow.

Clear as mud! Yes, I too have a LA who operates in a parallel universe who assure me they will be meeting the statutory deadline for the assessment to be completed when that date has already passed...Hmm

You may get something in the post, but there again you may not....

Sounds like they're working to your timeline, tbh, but in the reality distortion field of your LA's SEN team, anything's possible. She might have got your number mixed up with the number for her handler from Chinese intelligence...

With luck, the "documentation" should be the decision notice, plus explanation, plus notification of right to appeal. It's "documentation" in the sense that there'll be more than one page, and a form or two to fill in if necessary.

Why she couldn't have just said what was in it? Fuck knows, might not necessarily be bad news - I do that sort of overly-pompous "call a spade a mechanical excavation implement" shit on the phone when I'm not thinking...

Well like dh said , if it's a no or a nil as least I've got a mini victory by forcing them to reveal the hand they were hoping to hold onto until mid sept so at least it means I can get back to tribunal sooner rather than later.

It's just the language they use that's complete double Dutch - whats wrong with ' sorry got dates wrong, you are right , we have sent the decision paperwork in the post today'

She did make the slight error of leaving me her direct line phone number....
