How does a bursary affect carers allowance?

I am hoping as my youngest will attend school full time a year September to do a midwifery course. This has a bursary of £500 per month. How will it effect my carers allowance?

Just used a calculator to work out how much bursary I'll get and it says 360 a month so does that mean I won't lose my carers allowance?

The type of course and the hours you plan to do will affect your carers allowence far more.
At present the rules state: you’re not in full time education or studying for more than 21 hours a week.
Carers allowence is paid on the grounds you provide more than 35 hours per week of care to a person in reciept of higher levels of DLA/PIP and can therefore not work or may only be able to work limited amounts of time.
The second point to consider is this rule : you earn less than £102 a week (after taxes, care costs while you’re at work and 50% of what you pay into your pension).
A fulltime degree or similar course will cancel CA.

It does not matter what the income is comprised of you need to work out the weekly amount plus the hours. It MAY be possible depending on the type of course to negtiate a p/t route so chat with the course organiser about your situation as a carer.

Well I won't be able to do more hours than 9.15 to 3:15 each day as I cannot place my dc in childcare. So I will still be caring for 35 hours. My daughter requires care from 8:00 to 9:00 from 3:30 to 11:00 then again from 2:00-3:00 on a week day. So 9 and a half hours on a week day making a total of 47 1/2 hours Monday to Friday. Then a further of 32 hours over the weekend. So in total 79 1/2 hours of care for my daughter.

They offer the midwifery course full time and part time at my local university.
