Hi everyone - i know i haven't been around much lately. Summer was slightly mad with bored dd1 and newborn dd2.

But just had to come on to share the news that dd1 walked by herself with a rollater for the first time yesterday! and not just a few steps. apparently when she thought no-one was watching she crawled over to the rollater that one of the boys in her class uses, pulled herself up and then walked all across the play hall and up the slope to the dining hall!

i know it is still with support but i am just so thrilled that my little girl might actually be able to have the independence of walking where she wants to go.

heartinthecountry · 13/09/2006 12:05

thanks everyone

she is nearly 4 chatee - so i've been waiting a long time for this.

The thing that really makes me smile is that she did it of her own accord when she thought no-one was watching. dh and i always joke that she is like Andy from Little Britain

hitc,
my dd only started using her frame independently at 3 yrs so i know the feeling about the long waitmy dd is now just 6yrs and can step around the classroom without them but still needs them outside......
when she was little and someone told me that their child(then aged 6 was the same as my dd and hadn't walked until over 4 and was now walking unaided)i didn't dare hope that my dd would...you know what it's like you don't want to raise your expectations to have them knocked so when i see dd stepping around i am so proud of her......
i'll watch out for your post in the future about your wonderful dd and how she is improving- the only way is up from here honest.....enjoy
