SA- nil or statement stats?

Hi, I wondered if anyone had an idea of what the stats are like with regard to the percentage of statutory assessments that end up with a statement versus just a note in lieu? Have been googling but can't find anything. Trying to gauge my chances!

I can't speak for everywhere but in my area they have never issued a NIL - that said they have never been to tribunal for refusal to assess until it came to me so I'm expecting I will be the first NIL!

I think the percentage of NIL probably quite low

Thanks bjk, that's good to know. Fingers crossed you won't get a nil!

The issue is the evidence to justify needs, not the ratios of other cases.

Thanks nigel. Yes I know but still useful to get a sense of whether nils are extremely rare or quite common. For example, it was very helpful to me to know that requests to assess were almost always refused so I expected it and expected to appeal.

in our area NILs are relatively low- 99% of SAs result in a statement. Although it is incredibly difficult to secure a SA in the first instance.

Have you thought about making a freedom of information request? Might be useful if you are thinking about a particular local authority. You can usually apply online.

Thanks gospaniel what a good idea!
