cos sometimes life on this board is hard
went to get dd's hips scanned (annual appt) and saw two older twins who also have cp, we see them around occasionally
dd was delighted to see them. they were laughing and talking about all the games they used to play on their walking frames when they were her age - giving people rides, doing 'wheelies' etc
now they are walking really confidently on sticks
then I dropped her off at school after her appt and she ran off into the playground (happened to be playtime) to meet a little boy who has just started school this year (she is Yr 1) and they ran round together in their frames and they looked just so happy
so often dd is the 'only one' and I spend my life stressing about how she is using her frame with her physios tutting about how she is not putting her feet down and not walking 'properly' in it; and I spent a morning hearing lovely stories about how much fun it is to whizz down a slope on your frame and not put your feet down and then watching my daughter run off into the distance with another little lad using one
happy happy
also we saw Alison Lapper on tv this morning and had a lovely chat about how disabled people could do anything they wanted and how this lady was a famous artist and a mum even though she had no arms, and dd was really interested and pleased
