We've had a thread about stroppy shop assistants but here's the opposite. I went to Meadowhall today and visited the Disney Store to buy dd's (Nemo's number 1 fan) birthday presents.

I noticed a lady who was a wheelchair user. She turned out to be employed by the shop on a supported employment scheme. She was relatively immobile and had fine motor problems. IMO she may have had learning difficulties too. But she was there with the other staff! I realised she was an employee when the supervisor suggested that she moved to a place where she was less likely to knock a display down. She wasn't been told off, nor did the staff push her away in her wheelchair.

With her ability, it's unlikely she will make a major contribution to the workforce, but she's there - WORKING - and that's the main thing.

Well done Disney Store.
