Hi everyone, I'm hoping to pick your fabulous brains if you don't mind? If social services were wanting to cut your services how would you go about opposing it? What would be the correct route? And what cuts can be seen as plausible? Is it allowed? Any advice would be grateful, thankyou x

Has there been a review and a reassessment of your child's needs? They should only cut services, as the result of a reassessment - that shows the needs have decreased.

I would ask what is the rationale for the cuts in services, given your child's needs have (most likely) remained the same? Do it in writing, not over the telephone. If you do have telephone conversations/meetings with Social Services, always type up your own minutes of the conversation, send it to them straight afterwards and ask them to send any comments, if they disagree, within 10 working days.

Then as above, I'd speak to Maxwell Gillott - who got my DD1, on legal aid, the Assessment of Need and Care plan, she needed.

Thanks, there has not been a review or reassessment. I phoned Maxwell, however they aren't take any new cases on until August, which makes it too late to reinstate for this holiday. I have requested a review with possible reassessment as well as complaining to the children's disability team manager, who hadn't realised they have been cut! Now the social workers not replying. DS school aren't happy with the cuts so I think they plan on calling a meeting next week. It's been 2 days since I wrote my last email, the problem I made is not giving a deadline, so might email back giving one. Thanks again Thanks
