I've just left ds2 at a birthday party

First time I've ever left him at one, he is 8. To be fair, the last party he was invited to he was 5 but it still felt odd leaving him.

Fortunately the mam of the birthday child knows ds2 well and the party is a 2 minute walk/1 minute run if I'm needed. The mam more or less pushed me out the door and told me to go home and have a cuppa.

Sitting here now not knowing what to do with myself. Grin

It's horrible being sent away to relax when you know you can do anything but, haha.
I also feel like this when I have to leave DD1 (9) anywhere, really.

How long is he away for? When are you picking him up?

Picking him up at 4. He will be exhausted as it's a basketball party and he tires easily with excercises. Wish that meant he would sleep tonight

I'm sure he is having a great time, and hopefully will be a bit more subdued for you this afternoon.
Let us know what he says about the party Grin

Yes it's scary, sometimes it's more tiring to leave them and worry than to stay and watch but it's good you're letting him try by himself Brew

Hope he has a good time.

He had a great time. Didn't eat anything but didn't think he would.

Glad he had a great time. Hopefully you'll feel able to relax a little more next time Smile
