Sorry its me again, just had a very intese appointment with dd1 this morning ith the neurodisability consultant. It was about dds tremor which was picked up during her dcd assesment. The dr didnt seem overly concerned with the tremor, is going to do some blood tests and maybe an mri depending on the results of the blood tests. She also said that she wanted to asses dd for social skills, she didnt make eye contact with the dr tje whole way through and looked physically uncomfortable the whole time.
I feel it is possible that dd has aspergers and am pleased she is going to be assessed. I am worried about what it means if they do find this though, will she get help, will we be given help to deal with her as we are struggling more and more reently. What will it mean for school, univeristy in the future, jobs.

I desperatly want to work out why dd is the way she is and learn how to help her but I am scared as well.

What happens at the actual assessment, they said it would involve a few different proffesional, salt and psychologist are the only ones I remember.

I would not worry about university. A good university will have a disability advice department - can't remember exactly what its called. You can send professional reports to them, and they work out how to help your dc.

Universities must have lots of students with Aspergers or ASD. Several of my dc's friends with Aspergers/HFA went to university. The NAS has a service for helping adults with ASD into employment.
