The comments on MN are not from regular bonafide posters. That doesn't mean the school is great of course, but I get the feeling someone has a bee in their bonnet.

BTW, I have visited many a truly awful school and never been approached in the carpark. Hmm

Hi gemgem

I get the feeling you were approached in the car park by the banner waving Dontgothere.

I have a daughter at the school. She started last year. She has never been so happy at a school.
My advice if you'd like to accept it is to do your own research. Talk to teachers, head other parents at the school; try a taster day. But make your judgment based on what you see and facts. Listen to your child. Then make your judgment. Weigh up the pros and cons.

The last few weeks for me has been terribly difficult as I've tried to get my head around all the mumsnet chatter, the total obsession of a few people and deciding what is best for my daughter.
I've made my decision.
I wish you good luck and hopefully I will meet you at a school function in the future.

Good luck

Interesting, I'm every woman on your comments who approached the lady in the car park, certainly not me ! Starlight McKenzie you have to make your own judgement, but I suggest maybe you read the Ofsted report again, it digs deeper than just a lovely warm day in a beautiful setting with a head trying her best to make good of a dreadful situation. Ofsted were back again last week, so let's see the new outcome. Local Authority's will not place children there at the moment, high staff turnover and suggested bullying thoughout the school. And if you are still unsure, Norman Baker MP of Lewes may also be able to offer impartial advice? Hope that helps and good luck, just be careful with your decision as once made very difficult to change.
