Apparently Dd3's is poor!!

She has just had an updated EP assessment by a different EP. He noted that she is unable to transfer any skills to her non dominant hand and reversed 100% of the patterns he asked her to do Confused

He has recommended Neuropsychological testing to find out more about what is going on!

The more you look the more complex it gets! Confused

Oh, meant to say, she is already having weekly sensory intergration therapy! Will that help?

AFAIK the corpus collosum is the area involved in getting the 2 sides of the brain to co-operate effectively at the cortical level.
At a lower level of the brain, information is crossed over in lots of different ways so incoming information gets passed to both sides i.e. info from the left hand is not only going to the right hemisphere but also some fibres pass to the opposite side.

Bilateral integration (getting the 2 sides to operate effectively together) is an early level motor, sensory and cognitive skill, starting in the early weeks of development.

In general terms SI does impact on bilateral integation but if new info is coming from the Psychologist, the OT should be made aware of it so that they can perhaps, modify the treatment programme to pinpoint this.

Thanks redoubtable I have emailed the OT as I thought it sounded important! Grin

I know they were doing some work on crossing mid line with Dd3 this week and wondered if that was related.

Isnt it a shame that Dd3 has got to 11.9 before this has been picked up Sad
