Cruckton Hall, Alderwasley or ANOther within reach of Birmingham

We have finally got out of borough placement agreement for ds1 (11 years, AS, academically bright but can have challenging behaviour when needs are not met). Anybody got any experiences they are willing to share about these schools or could suggest other options. Just to complicate things ds2 (same characteristics) already has a place at ANother but general advice is that they would do better at separate schools. We have investigated local, non-specialist independents but they are sadly not willing to take the risk & the local grammar could not run away fast enough!!!!

Please please be very aware of cruckton the school I've had little to do with as my son accessed next to No education. The care side is appalling.
Untrained staff
No asd specifics at all
No real meaningful care of children
Entrenched bullying.
Constant restrain
No exercise
Basic diet
No communication
No incident reports
The Web site is false.the ofsted reports shown are cherry picked to look good.the care side has been found inadequate a year ago and initial reports say this current ofsted will be inadequate to.

Maybe a shake up will occur but I believe this provision should be closed or totally refurbished structured... Its not just inadequate it's damaging.

I think ds1 and us must live in a parallel universe as this is so outside our experience of the school and we would be deeply saddened if it was forced to close. We were told last week though that concerns have been raised about staffing levels and that our LA and neighbouring authorities will be monitoring the situation closely. We are reserving judgment until we see the OFSTED report but it is very worrying.

What a shame one I really hope this is a glich and an example of how different people have different experiences !
