That's depressing, alright :(

Tempted to run into school and give the boys' HT an impromptu kiss. The school gets the best results in the area (for the intake) with none of that pressurised shit.

Ds school was in special measures they are good with ds and aren't obsessed with results

Ds is currently having a swimming lesson. They've given him a teacher to himself. Fine, but they bang on every week about this wonderful inclusive service for no extra money and how lucky I am.

It's nice but ds doesn't NEED 1:1 swimming lesson and it is only due to THEIR issues that the did it that way and also ds asks every week if he can have some friends in his class Hmm.

I know I should be grateful because they HAVE tried, but inclusion is do poorly understood by EVERYONE and it shouldn't be, and I hate being treated as a 'special case' and regularly announced as such. Especially as ds doesn't even NEED it.

Oh, and they keep telling me to buy him goggles, another bug bear. My I'm in a grumpy mood!!!!

Scary stuff. DS3 is only in reception and so far the school have bent over backwards to provide what he needs (nothing to do with me knocking on the SENCOs door every week, I'm sure Hmm) However, they are very target-driven and have already indicated to me that when they do his annual review in year 1, one of the things they will be looking at is whether they can still meet his needs and whether his education there constitutes an 'inefficient use of resources'. This is despite the fact that he has made good progress this year, is not at all disruptive and is settled.

Doesn't surprise me.

The job of a head is to be an umbrella that protects staff and students from the cr*p showering down from above.

Sadly, lots of them think their job is to be a funnel for it.
