Avoiding artificial colours - need help with definition

I organise a children's activity for my church, which involves cooking and eating together. We have a couple of new participants that need to avoid artificial colours to help manage their ADHD. Can anyone point me to a decent fact sheet that will help my volunteer caterers get up to speed?

In particular - are "anthocyanins" OK? They are listed on a product we often use, and Google would suggest they are plant-based colours, so I'm assuming those are OK?

(Will also ask the parents, but I think this board might have enough expertise to help get us up to speed!)

That's a lovely thing to do could the parents bring ingredients just for their children to avoid confusion

Thanks PolterGoose - yes that does help. I think I'm getting my head round it now. And yes, the parents are very understanding and happy to bring alternatives. But I'd like to feel that we are doing what we can to make it easier for them :-)

Perhaps a bit more info than you are after but as someone who is very carefully managing diet for ADHD type behaviours this is the list I use: fedup.com.au/information/information/complete-lists-of-additives
