Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Aspergers and now a physical disability too.

DS2's has acquired serious nerve and muscle damage as the result of post operative complications from an elbow fracture. He has had skin grafts and will have pretty scary scars too.

His dominant hand/arm will never work properly again and he is going to have to switch to his other hand for writing etc.

He is coping reasonably well at the moment despite being into his third week in hospital but I am worried about the fallout when it all sinks in.

Anyone have experience of a child with HFASD / Aspergers coping with a similar experience.

No experience here, but I'm sorry he's having to deal with so much.

The prognosis has improved this week, the physios are being quite encouraging unlike the consultant who gave me the worst case scenario ( my fault for asking!).

We saw under the dressing today too, argh my arm looks zombified said DS, it is pretty gruesome at the moment and will certainly be a talking point at school.
