Night time wetting

DD is 7 and has been prescribed Desmomelts for night time wetting. The continance nurse said she would be dry from first tablet. We have been taking them a week and she is as wet as ever. DD, who never before bothered about her nappy being wet, is now getting upset and saying she's a failure as she keeps peeling at night.

Any experience, will call paediatric clinic in Tuesday when they open but any help before then would be welcome x

Is she dry during the day? Does she wear pyjamas? Could she have retained spinal galant reflex? Easy to test if the reflex is present by triggering it - she won't pee btw if it is. Smile

She is dry during the day but has occasional accidents. These usually occur before a bad cold or if she forgets she needs. Am off to google retained spinal galant reflex (never heard of that). She does wear pyjamas, does that affect toiletting at night?

The elasticated waistband can trigger the reflex resulting in releasing the bladder whilst asleep. Exercises to integrate are really easy and are worth doing. The only thing that ever worked and was permanent for DS1.

How interesting, KeepOn, I will have to have a google. Dd2 is not reliably dry overnight, and when wet can soak a pull up (and pyjamas and bed etc).
