Urinating in bedroom

I posted a few months ago as I suspect my ds has aspergers. We are seeing dr tomorrow to ask for a referral for assessment.

One of the things I mentioned at time of original post is that ds bedroom stunk if urine and couldn't work out where it was. A poster said she suspected ds has weed down side of bed. It turns out that this was true and ds admitted he had been doing this. His reason was he wakes up needing to go but didn't like the dark as he scared there were zombies. Hallway light is left on. Since then he has his bedroom and also the bathroom light left on at night too. He is still doing it and we are not sure what to try next. We are due cluttering his bedroom to try and make it more calming but does anyone have any advice on what else we could do.

Thank you x

Can't think how you could get him to stop completely but would he use (and then empty/wash in the morning) a urine bottle or two?
They can be bought fairly easily on line (get one with a lid!!).

We did think of that but was concerned that it would send a message that it was ok to urinate in his bedroom

No it's not every night. In the last 2 weeks he has done it twice that I know of.

We could do. The only thing is we don't actually know when it's happened it can be a few days later when we tidy room or if he tells us (rare)

Zombie is because we went to Alton towers and he went on a ghost train ride which had zombies apparently. Although he was ok afterwards he has had nightmares about them on and off over the last 2 years. The weeing started just before Christmas.

Yes he is awake. He had a cabin bed which was next to a socket at bed high. He blew the socket as he weed on it. When we mentioned it to him he said he was bring careful so he is fully aware if what he is doing. Cabin bed now gone and replaced with low one.

Ds is the one who wants the lights on. Personally I can't sleep with them on but ds reckons he can. He did have a lamp but it blew with the socketHmm
