What should I ask EP to look at? (Possible aspergers/ASD)

Just that really! DS is 9yo, year 5 and finally we are seeing an EP! He has a very spiked academic profile (2A writer, 3B reader, 4A maths).

I have a form to fill in stating my concerns and what I would like EP to do and want help with and asks how my child feels about the things he struggles with. So far my thoughts are:

executive memory/ function
full cognitive assessment
fine motor skills/ pencil use
classroom observation to see how much he's engaged! functioning etc

Look at what support he'll need in assessments / exams etc and whether a laptop/IPad would be beneficial for him to use in school.

DS main concerns are anxiety - he won't finish work, it'll be wrong etc. look at specific strategies to help him understand exactly what's expected. School are doing all this but further advice.

Anything else that would be helpful? Should I be asking for IQ testing?

IQ testing tends not to be done - the cognitive assessments give far more detail about specific skill areas.

The observation needs to be not just confined to a classroom situation. The LA EP who observed DS1 last year followed him through a good chunk of the school day and watch him on the yard at playtime, too, so picked up on some issues with the way he interacts with other children. If playtime is stressful for him, in any way, that will feed the anxiety in the classroom.

Good point about playtime. Especially as he already only does am play and ten minutes at lunch as he couldn't cope with more.

I did want to basically request she observe him for a long period of time, transistions etc, and without him and other children knowing she observing him iyswim?

Mostly because I want her to see his everyday interactions.

working memory. focus/attention. sensory interactions. Is your DC seeking/avoiding sensory input. is the busy environment too much?
tbh i would think the ed psych would tell you what test they will do. you just tell them the behaviours.

as someone said above the cognitive tests are comprehensive but i thought these did give you an iq in the result. well i think my DS' did anyway.
