Don't disabled people/children have rights? human rights?

We have multiple disabilities in our family.

We get NO help/support whatsoever, this is after year after year of trying to get some respite/carer/support from every disability place going.

only thing we get is DLA.

we face repeated discrimination over this. and I mean DISCRIMINATION.

do we not have rights?

Criminals do.

I want to take local council/services to court over this yet see no way of doingit.

please do not ask me what services/council, and whatever anyone suggests believe me, we've been there, done that. and GP cant do any more than they have.

CAB fobbed us off too. in fact they laughed over the phone at my suggestion.

All Id like someone to tell me is an answer to my thread title.yes or no?

this also involves bedroom tax for a tiny room adapted for disabilities btw, and the people that went to court over that were also fobbed off by the courts weren't they?

we are at the end of our tether and seemingly only one way out.

To answer the question we need more info- of course everybody has rights- but they only go so far- and it is proportional to your needs (or perceived needs by the authority) This means that if you ask for the government to buy you a care because your child is disabled and you struggle to get to school on a bus then you may get some help, if your child has a big enough mobility issue- if your child can walk fine then usually you are not entitled to the help, but if your child is in a wheel chair you may be- does that make sense, it depends if your requests are deemed to be reasonable and in keeping with policies by those you are asking.

The whole family have discrimination.

I have a 'not normal' face , part of the disabilities,(for want of a better phrase) and so they think my mental state reflect my looks. same with rest of family.

wed have a case if it was racism, but apparently not disablism (if that's a word).

we have a car, we had to get it ourselves as we cant walk far without pain but the fact we can all put our feet on the floor and walk up to 10 steps means we don't qualify for car help.

including tax disc and stuff.

everything.
not necessarily just financial, just 'help' where theyre supposed to help..

difficult to explain really, its just one brick wall after another.

housing probs, the car, etc etc. this government just don't give a fig about disabled people and theres no help available.

everytime we try a service, whatever it may be, (sorry I cant be more specific, I don't want to out myself), were literally having doors shut in our faces. were going to the right places but its like most of the people there just look at us like we are circus freaks in the Victorian days and feel we are not worthy to be on this earth, were a waste of space (weve been told this to our faces) and ''all us freaks'' (ALL disabled people) should be locked away like in the old days.

ive complained about these people to ombudsmen and police etc etc to no avail.

we especially have discrimination from our neighbours anda few others in our road. just because we look and are different to them, they throw things, they spit in our faces, they pull those 'spastic' faces, weve moved a few times because of this but as we are council we don't have much choice where to be, and they wont give us shelterd housing, and the one time the police came the neighbours did worse things.

that's all im going to say, that's just the tip of the iceberg. we get no protection or anything.

You have rights, but getting access to them requires a detailed and systematic process. Therefore is is impossible for anyone to say anything except 'yes' to your question.

We need to know which ombudsman, when and for what iyswim.
