Question about carer's allowance- not sure if in the right place

I understand that if my child receives middle or high rate care I may be entitled to claim carer's allowance for my DS if I earn less than £100 per week? Is this means tested on how much we earn as a family or just my wage? Thanks for any advice

Just your wage. Do you pay into a pension or for childcare whilst you are working? Then some of the pension and childcare are taken into account and you can more than £100 (or £102 from May onwards) and might still qualify.

Its £100 or £102 after you have deducted tax, NI, childcare, pension and it doesn't matter how much your partner earns

You can get disability extra tax credits too if you get tax credits, but carers may reduce your tax credits overall. Its usually still worth claiming tax credits though esp if on high rate DLA
