Just that really - EP coming to see DD and me tomorrow to collect her views for SA. Just wondered if there is anything I should be aware of as this is new territory for me?

dont trust the LA EP. any information that you vulenteer will probably be manipulated and used against you at some point in the future. say vw6ry little and perfect your smile and nod technique Grin
sorry if I sound really negative but I just wish I had known this from the start! good luck!

  1. Make sure you're present - you have a right to be
  1. Record everything!
  1. Do not prepare your chid so the EP may get an accurate presentation of her

Thanks I think I needed to be reminded to be careful thinking I have probably said too much already EP has been supportive so far although I've not seen anything in writing yet! Reading others experiences here made me wonder if I was being too trusting. I am staying during the visit. I'm quite nervous about it. Sad

Just for a balanced viewpoint, the EP visited us at home and she was lovely. I offered her tea, she politely declined and sat on the floor to 'play' with DD. Lovely lady.

She did take down every detail we offered and they were ALL mentioned in her report. I found it strange that she wrote about us as a family, not just about DD. The LA hung on every word of the EP report (copy and pasted bulk sections into the statement), so don't underestimate how important the meeting is. That said, I thought she was fair, open and provided lots of constructive ideas and ways in which help could be provided.

If we've just lucked-in and this is not the norm, then I appreciate that we are very lucky.

For reference, DD had just turned 2, has CP and we got a statement within 6 months with full-time 1:1 provision. Best wishes for tomorrow.

That helps too. I do think EP is nice. I just don't know about LA!!! I guess all I can do is try and stop worrying and get some sleep tonight!

From our experience, the LA will go with whatever the EP says. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow and you get some rest tonight. :)

Well EP came and tried to get dd to talk about school. Dd just wanted to talk about current interest but eventually was her very blunt self about what was wrong with school - her ideas about what would make it better involved the use of explosives! Im hoping EP wrote down exactly what she said!! Shock I await the report with interest and feel like I need lots of coffee and chocolate after that.

Hi there only advice I'd give is when the EP send you a copy of the report , make sure you check it to ensure they have got everything right and more importantly, that you agree with their findings, if you don't, contact them and fight for changes to be made to the report before it's finally submitted tx
