If a child is very interactive at the ADOS assessment i.e. with the examiner who's assessing the child.. Would he/she most likely would not get an ASD diagnosis?

I wouldn't say it's that easy. I didn't think mine was particularly cop operative but then he didn't meet the scoring first time round. The psychologists interpret things in different ways. They are often looking for clues such as eye contact rather than the actual play. It's difficult but try not to second guess or you'll drive yourself mad like I did!

My DS had an excellent rapport with both the paeds at the ADOS but he still got his dx.

DS was his usual happy pleasant self when he had his but he didn't do well with reciprocal play, exhibition of empathy or comments on others' emotions and was given a Dx.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your replies.

But what if a child is not that all interactive in the assessment? Would they most likely get a diagnosis of ASD?
