Sorry I havn't posted for ages Smile

Dd2 is almost 8, has autism, speech delay, lots of sensory issues and hypermonility, she's at a ms school and is doing well ( we have had a few bad experiences but over all she is coping well ).

I have been asked to attend a meeting next week, apparently the school have been given some extra sn funding and they would like to discus how best to use the money to help dd2, ed phyc will be there as well as outreach worker and speech therapist. I havn't got a clue what I can suggest the money is spent on, I spoke to dd's TA and she suggested that it's spend on something to help dd with literacy and writing, dd struggles with writing, although it is readable she refuses to attempt joined up writing and she struggle with descriptive text ( will only write very shot sentences ). Is there anything that could help this?

Also looking for any other suggestions which may benefit her.

Hi Marne,

What they have suggested is good but is the funding going to be ring fenced for your DDs sole use?. This could all too easily be spent on other things otherwise.

Occupational therapist?.

Have you considered applying for a statement for DD as secondary school is not too far off now.

She has OT at school ( TA has been trained by her OT to apply it at school and she gets 20 minutes a day which is on her statement ).

At the moment we are unsure what high school she will go to, it all depends how she does over the next year, SENCO thinks ms but this could be a joint placement with the sn school which is across the road from the ms school, if she goes to ms her statement she has now will be carried over ( tweaked a little ).

Next year she will be the only child with a statement in the school ( it's a small school ) though I'm sure there are others with sn's.
