Is anyone using a Crelling harness?

Ds has almost grown out of his car seat and a booster seat is no good. He is out of that before I've even made it to the driver's seat! Our OT has asked for funding from the social fund for a Crelling harness and sent me a diagram of a very scary-looking contraption .

I wondered if anyone else is using one and if so, is it as difficult as it looks? The diagrams aren't very clear but it looks as though it has buckles rather than clips iyswim. Also, how easy is it to fit into the car? It would have to go in the back seat as ds kicks the gear-stick if I try to have him in the front. The OT was going to try and arrange for me to visit someone who is using one to see how they are finding it and maybe try ds in it but unfortunately this hasn't been possible.

Please tell me you all have them and they are so wonderful you wouldn't be without them etc. I know we are lucky to be getting help as they are expensive but it's hard enough getting ds in the car now (has done my back in!) without a lot of extra fiddling about with buckles. TAI

I'm using one to keep ds1 safe near roads. (not scary contraption though, just like a wasit belt with strap attached- made out of seat belt type material).

It's very well made, and Crelling are very helpful on the phone. I'd advise giving them a ring, they're not pushy at all.

Thanks Jimjams. Actually, I could do with one of those waist belts too so I might ask about that.

Just reporting that our harness has arrived already! I'm thrilled because I thought we'd have to wait months for it. Anyway it's lovely, much nicer than I expected and very smart. Let's hope ds is as impressed as me .
