Brainwave for sensory issues?

Also for other, co ordination issues etc. it appeals to me to have everything in one place as a plan and equipment sent out etc but is it worth it? Or would something else be more relevant ?

I have been looking into it also. I had approached them a couple of years ago. Can't remember what their 2 day assessment costs are and then how frequently you go back for excercises.

I approached them a couple of years back too and then couldn't quite decide and had other stuff going on at the time. I think there is a scale according to income and at the time I think I worked out it would be around £300 a year but it may be different now as its income based and obviously different for everyone if so.

I looked at bibic too but iirc there would be less physiotherapy/OT stuff with them.

Will ask dd's (special) school mums today and see if any of them have been as am pretty sure some have and see how they found it. Will report back.

I don't know about brainwave but I am doing the snowdrop program soon with my son which i believe is similar to brainwave. He has sensory issues and developmental delay, possible asd, but is mainly the sensory stuff I'm going for. Haven't started yet but like you I wanted something that covered everything and I'd looked at private OT but felt that doing something neurodevelopmental may help get to the 'root' of his sensory processing issues rather than deal with the syptoms ifyswim. He has evidence of brain injury on an MRI but is doing wonderfully physically but has slow processing and quite significant sensory processing issues I feel.

Will report back! Smile

Thank you! And good luck with it. I hadn't heard of snowdrop so will have a quick look now.

Give them a ring to see what they offer sensory wise. They certainly help with ASD so I'm sure sensory issues are likely.

Thanks I will give both a call. I think brainwave is looking good for us so may give them a ring today. I would ideally like something which helps behaviour and am pretty sure that sensory issues are at the root of a lot of the hitting etc that has been going on here. We have a sensory diet but I struggle to fit it all in with a baby as well so will have to factor that in.

How much per month do you think these programs cost? Ball park..

Wallpaper123 · 20/01/2014 18:43

You pay for the first session which is two full days. I think around £300 but it was about 3 years ago. The 1 day reassessment is every 5 or 6 months. We have not paid the full amount since the first assessment as lovely people can sponsor your child and give charity funding as a sponsor.
